Separation of Russian, U.S. segments on ISS not being considered - Rogozin (Part 2)

ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The International Space Station (ISS) will keep working in the same configuration, and there are no plans to separate Russian and U.S. segments, Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin told the press on Wednesday.

"No, this is not being discussed so far," Rogozin said in response to the question whether separation of Russian and U.S. segments of the station was being considered.

There is no plan to connect the Russian segment to Chinese stations, either, Rogozin said, adding that he favored the creation of a technical possibility of docking the ISS with China's station for the sake of crew security.

"Perhaps, for security reasons, we need certain nodes for possible docking with the Chinese station. We will ask the Chinese whether they need it or not. That would not be so bad," Rogozin said.
