Kyiv reps in Minsk ignore Steinmeier formula agreed on by political advisors to Normandy-Format leaders, including Zelensky's aide - Chesnakov

MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian delegation to the talks within the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk refused on Wednesday to sign the agreed-upon text of the Steinmeier formula drafted by political advisors to the Normandy Four leaders, including the initiative of the Ukrainian president's aide, Center for Current Policy Director Alexei Chesnakov told Interfax.

"The Ukrainian side in Minsk has refused to sign the agreed-upon text of Steinmeier formula, which Normandy Four leaders' political advisors, including Ukraine's Andriy Yermak, earlier submitted in a special letter to the Contact Group," Chesnakov said.

Ukrainian politicians are deliberately playing the game of contradictions, he said. "It's no surprise that we are seeing Ukrainian officials sending such mixed signals. It's the old game of bad negotiating partner, good negotiating partner," Chesnakov said.
