TBILISI. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Georgia has extradited Ramzan Akhiadov, whom Russia suspects of terrorism, Georgian Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani told journalists on Thursday.
Akhiadov is charged in Russia with recruiting people for Islamic State (ISIS, banned in Russia) and involvement in combat activities in 2013-2015, Tsulukiani said.
Akhiadov entered Georgia from Turkey, where he was also involved in terrorism-related activities, she said.
Georgia received written guarantees from Russia that Akhiadov would not be subjected to torture and his rights would not be violated, Tsulukiani said.
The extradition procedure passed in compliance with international standards, she said.
