DPR militia reports heavy artillery attack on Donetsk district

DONETSK. Sept 25 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army has attacked the Kuibyshivskyi district of Donetsk, inflicting damage on homes and two ambulances, a spokesperson for the militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) told the press on Wednesday.

"At 6:50 a.m. today, Ukrainian fighters from the 28th brigade [...] fired 152mm and 122mm artillery weapons at the Lozove neighborhood on the western outskirts of Donetsk. More than 50 shells were fired. People had to hide in basements. The ongoing attack on the Kuibyshivskyi district of Donetsk prevented emergency services from reaching the damaged civilian infrastructure. Therefore, the militia command decided to send a group of servicemen, including medics, to help the civilian population. Two ambulances came under fire from the 28th mechanized infantry brigade," the spokesperson said.

The medics were not injured but the ambulances were damaged by shell fragments, the spokesperson said.

"A drone was acting to adjust the artillery fire of the 28th brigade, and the Ukrainian fighters were aware of what they were firing at," the spokesperson said.
