Outrageous of U.S. not to issue visas to almost entire Russian delegation to CTBT conference - Lavrov

NEW YORK, UN. Sept 25 (Interfax) - The United States refused to issue visas to almost the entire Russian delegation to the Conference on Facilitating Entry into Force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and it is an outrageous incident, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"Unfortunately, our conference was overshadowed by an outrageous incident related to the U.S. side's failure to fulfill its obligations in the prompt issuance of entry visas to the members of the delegations arriving to work at the United Nations. Almost the entire Russian delegation, which was listed for participation in work of today's conference, did not receive visas, although our side had performed all procedures," Lavrov said at the 11th Conference on Facilitating the Entry into Force of the CTBT.

"Apparently, now it's time to think about relocating such conferences from New York to more stable venues, whose host is more responsible about its obligations," he said.
