MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Russia has made a plan to deal with the possible new sanctions against its defense sector, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
"I will brief you on the additional measures which could be taken in the case of new sanctions, so that no one could even suggest our inability to independently ensure our national defense capacity," Borisov said.
"Also, I would like to brief you on progress of import substitution programs, considering that manufacturers of Ukraine and member states of NATO and the EU stopped supplying particular component parts and materials to us after 2014 [when the sanctions took effect]," Borisov said.
The sanctions have not prevented government defense contracts from being fulfilled in due time, he said.
