Russian Foreign Ministry not surprised at Taliban's boycott of presidential elections in Afghanistan

NEW YORK CITY. Sept 26 (Interfax) - A high-ranking Russian diplomat has said it was no surprise that the Taliban (banned in Russia) would call for boycotting the presidential elections in Afghanistan.

"This is to be expected. They always do this, and they don't recognize such elections as fair," Russian presidential envoy for Afghanistan and Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asian Department Zamir Kabulov told journalists on Thursday.
