MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani have held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The meeting took place with assistance from Switzerland, which represents the interests of Russia in Georgia and Georgia in Russia in the absence of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Tbilisi, the agency said in a statement posted on Facebook.
"The meeting addressed vital bilateral issues. The parties exchanged opinions on regional security issues," the statement said.
