KYIV. Oct 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigations has opened a criminal inquiry into former Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko's possible abuse of office on the basis of a relevant report by David Arakhamia, the head of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party.
"A criminal proceeding has been opened into former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko's possible abuse of office based on Arakhamia's statement," the State Bureau of Investigations told Interfax on Tuesday.
A criminal case has been opened on charges of abuse of power and office.
Arakhamia claimed in his statement that Lutsenko might have facilitated illegal gambling businesses, possibly in collusion with a number of former parliamentarians and other individuals.
