Contact Group in Minsk agrees on special status for Donbas - Gryzlov

MINSK. Oct 1 (Interfax) - The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas has agreed on the introduction of a special status for the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics and to military disengagement in Petrovske and Zolote, TCG Russian representative Boris Gryzlov told journalists on Tuesday.

"All attendees of the TCG meeting, including representatives from both the republics, have agreed for the Steinmeier Formula to be enshrined in Ukrainian laws. Thus, the procedure has been agreed for enacting the law on special status for the breakaway parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Gryzlov said.

The group also agreed on a schedule of disengagement between the conflicting parties in Petrovske and Zolote, with the implementation start date set for October 7, he said.
