MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram to German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the occasion of Germany's national holiday, German Unity Day, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.
"The reunification of Germany is a historic event which marked the end of the Cold War in Europe and opened a new page in relations between our states," Putin said.
"Constructive development of Russian-German cooperation in various areas and further interaction in pressing global and regional affairs would meet fundamental interests of the peoples of Russia, Germany, and the entire European continent," he said.
