Moscow gets Ankara's assurances that Syria's integrity needs to be preserved - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu assured him that in all of its actions Turkey will proceed from the need to restore Syria's territorial integrity.

"Yesterday I talked with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who firmly and unambiguously confirmed to me that the Turkish side respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic and in all of its actions will proceed from the fact that the ultimate goal of our efforts is in particular the full restoration of the territorial integrity of the Syrian state," Lavrov told a press conference in Nur-Sultan on Wednesday, responding to a question from Interfax.

"Naturally, the situation is moving. It is developing. We follow it real-time. We will inform you," he said.
