MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The sovereignty of Ukraine is not under consideration; this is an internal issue, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the press on Wednesday.
"In this case, the fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements is the primary objective. This will enable Ukraine to settle the intra-Ukrainian conflict and to deal with this domestic Ukrainian problem," Peskov said.
"The countries which have signed the document [the Minsk Agreements], Russia, Germany, and France, are bound to help Ukraine reach this goal," he said.
Journalists asked Peskov what the Kremlin thinks about Ukrainian sovereignty. "In this case, sovereignty is not the issue. No one is calling Ukraine's sovereignty into question. This is an internal affair of Ukraine, which deals with sovereignty issues on its own," he said.
Journalists asked Peskov to comment on the statement by Director of the Center for Current Policy Alexei Chesnakov, who said that Ukraine would have symbolic, rather than real sovereignty over Donbas after the fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements and that Kyiv would not aspire for anything else.
