Moscow expects new Japanese foreign minister to visit Russia this year - Morgulov

MOSCOW. Oct 14 (Interfax) - Moscow expects new Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to visit Russia this year, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told the press on Monday.

"Hopefully, the visit will take place before the end of this year," Morgulov said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov "had the first meeting with the Japanese colleague in New York City [at the UN General Assembly session] and invited Motegi to visit the Russian Federation," Morgulov said.
