NEW YORK (UN). Oct 16 (Interfax) - The United Nations shares the opinion of Russia and other countries that the non-issuance of visas to delegates to the 74th session of the UN General Assembly breaches the obligations of the host country, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Gennady Kuzmin said.
"In his speech, the under secretary general actually reaffirmed our opinion that the host state had breached its obligation by not issuing visas and blocking access of our representatives to the United States," Kuzmin told Russian journalists following a special meeting of the UN Committee on Relations with the Host Country.
He additionally said he had asked Under Secretary General for Legal Affairs and United Nations Legal Counsel Miguel de Serpa Soares to publish the statement by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres which Serpa Soares read out at the meeting.
