'School terrorists' extremely vulnerable to recruiters from network structures - Bortnikov

SOCHI. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Russian Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov has spoken about the dangers posed by radical right-wing organizations and teenagers interested in mass killings in schools.

"The problem of 'school terrorism' has recently become aggravated in some countries. Some teenagers, usually those who have problems socializing, not only participate in the propaganda of mass killings in secret Internet communities for motives of personal vengeance but also carry out terrorist attacks," Bortnikov said at the 18th international meeting between the heads of the special services, security agencies, and law enforcement agencies, which is being held in Sochi.

"These individuals are extremely vulnerable to recruiters from terrorist entities," Bortnikov said.

He additionally said there are preconditions in society for so-called right-wing terrorism, which is based on xenophobia and hatred of non-locals.

"We already see that underground radical right-wing entities are broadly using the principles of organization and the methods of actions of international terrorist organizations. I'm talking about the network structure, the establishment of international relations with their associates, the training and polishing of methods of street resistance to defense and security forces, entry into military conflict areas for the purpose of fighting," Bortnikov said.
