Baltic Fleet ships destroy mock enemy sub

MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Baltic Fleet ships detected and destroyed a mock enemy submarine at drills, the Baltic Fleet press service said.

"The submarine taskforce, which includes small submarine chasers, the Kazanets, the Urengoi, and the Aleksin, has fulfilled scheduled missions to search for, detect, and destroy a mock enemy submarine," the statement said.

The submarine has been searched with aerial support of Kamov Ka-27 PL anti-submarine helicopters, according to the fleet's headquarters.

"During the exercise the crews of submarine chasers implemented a series of live fire drills with RBU-6000 rocket launchers and practiced the actual use of torpedoes," the Baltic Fleet said.

The ship crews additionally carried out trainings to rebuff airstrikes while conducting live fire drills involving air defense systems.
