Peskov promises to learn about situation with pardoning of Norwegian Berg convicted in Russia for espionage

MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said he does not currently have information on the request to pardon Norwegian Frode Berg, who was convicted in Russia for espionage, but will obtain details.

Responding to a question on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin has received a request to pardon Berg and whether his exchange is expected in the coming days, Peskov said, "I cannot answer your question, I do not have information on this matter."

When asked to comment on the situation surrounding the pardon request, Peskov said, "Yes, I will find out, but I can't right now. I will try to find out by tomorrow."

Peskov additionally said he does not have information on a possible exchange of Berg.
