MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has dismissed reports of problems with Caspian Flotilla ships launching Kalibr cruise missiles during last week's strategic exercise Thunder 2019.
"The launch of sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles from the small missile ship Grad Sviyazhsk proceeded successfully, to standard, and was recorded by means of objective monitoring in real time and subsequently demonstrated to Russian and international audiences on central television channels," the ministry said in a statement.
Technical units or separate weapon systems are tested not during an exercise of a strategic scale, but only in separate tests involving industry representatives, the statement said.
