Subject of S-400 systems supplies to Turkey continuing - FSMTC head

SOCHI. Oct 22 (Interfax) - The subject of deliveries of S-400 air defense systems to Turkey remains on the agenda of Russian-Turkish relations, the head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Dmitry Shugayev, said.

"The S-400 subject, let's say, is in development. We'll see how things move forward," Shugayev told journalists on Tuesday when asked whether negotiations are taking place with Ankara on a new contract for supplies of the S-400 systems.

Answering a follow-up question of whether it can be said that the discussion of new S-400 deliveries is ongoing, the FSMTC head said, "I can tell you that the subject of the S-400 systems is continuing."

Shugayev replied in the negative when asked whether Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan had discussed deliveries of the S-400 systems at talks in Sochi on Tuesday.
