Damascus must control oil sites in northeastern Syria - Russian diplomat (Part 2)

SOCHI. Oct 23 (Interfax) - Damascus must take over oil sites in northeastern Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told the press.

"Everything must be passed under control of Damascus, the legitimate government," Bogdanov said.

This does not cancel the political process, the reforms, and the need to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2254, he said.

"However, every document and official statement says that the involved parties must show respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and unity of the Syrian state," he said.
