Russian Defense Ministry reports on first patrol mission of Russian military police in northern Syria near border with Turkey

MOSCOW. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has stated that Russian military police officers went on their first patrol mission along the scheduled route in northern Syria on Wednesday.

"Local Syrian residents greeted Russian military police officers on their route," a statement of the ministry received by Interfax said.

"In the populated locality of Kobani, Russian military policemen held a meeting with the leadership of the local authorities, during which the issues of implementing the provisions of the memorandum were discussed," the statement said.
