MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Military police units from Chechnya have begun fulfilling their tasks to maintain security and conduct patrols in northern Syria, Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.
"Military police from Chechnya have already embarked on their mission to ensure the security of the population and patrol the territory from which the Kurdish People's Protection Units and weapons are withdrawing," Kadyrov said.
The servicemen dispatched to Syria are well trained, he said.
"Their service in Syria was earlier positively assessed by representatives of the local population and the authorities," Kadyrov said.
