MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and the permanent members of the Russian Security Council have discussed the implementation of the memorandum on Syria agreed upon by Moscow and Ankara in Sochi on October 22, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"The Russian president held a briefing session with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council. During the session, the parties discussed an entire range of relevant issues of the domestic Russian agenda. The president informed the participants in the session about the content of his numerous contacts on the sidelines of the recent Russia-Africa summit. The parties also had an in-depth exchange of views on the implementation of the memorandum agreed upon by the presidents of Russia and Turkey and on the situation in Syria in general," Peskov told journalists on Saturday.
The session was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin, and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology, and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
