BAKU. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday evening arrived from Yerevan to Baku, where he will chair a session of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on October 30.
"The range of issues of interaction in the area of defense and military security will be discussed at the meeting," Russian defense minister's spokesperson Rossiyana Markovskaya told reporters.
The defense ministers are expected "to sum up the results of military interaction in 2019, as well as discuss a draft concept of military cooperation between the CIS states up to 2025," she said.
"Decisions will be made in the field of topographic, metrological, and information support to military activities and other spheres," Markovskaya said.
"It is also planned to approve joint events for 2020 and review the progress of preparations to the landmark event of the common history of the CIS states, that is, the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War," Markovskaya said.
The delegations of the defense ministries of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will attend the meeting, she said.
Shoigu arrived to Azerbaijan from Armenia, where he has been on a working visit earlier on Tuesday.
