Physical Institute director tells Interfax he is under travel restrictions, summoned to Russian Investigative Committee for questioning

MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Director of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Kolachevsky told Interfax he had been put under travel restrictions after the searches conducted on Wednesday and his procedural status would be determined tonight after questioning at the Russian Investigative Committee.

"They let me go yesterday. I am under travel restrictions, and cannot go abroad. I am due to appear at the Investigative Committee for questioning at 7 p.m. today, and my procedural status will be determined afterwards," Kolachevsky said on Thursday.

Kolachevsky said on Wednesday that searches had been conducted at the institute and his apartment. According to the search warrant, he is implicated in abetting optical elements contraband.

Interfax has yet to obtain law enforcers' comments on the issue.
