Turkey confirms plans to train astronauts in Russia - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey will draft an intergovernmental agreement on space cooperation, Roscosmos said on Thursday.

Following the meeting between Roscosmos General Director Dmitry Rogozin and Turkish Ambassador to Russia Mehmet Samsar, the sides "reached an agreement to begin the drafting of a framework intergovernmental agreement on space between the two countries. The Turkish side also confirmed the previously announced plans to organize Turkish astronauts' training in the Star City," the press service of the state corporation said.

It is most likely that a Turkish astronaut will go on a space journey in 2023, Rogozin told reporters on September 19.
