Russia can help with talks on integrating Kurdish units into Syrian army - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Russia stands ready to facilitate talks between the Syrian government and the Kurds, including on the prospect of including Kurdish units in Syrian government forces, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin told reporters.

"We have said many times that we stand for a dialogue with representatives of the central authorities in Damascus and see the Kurds as an integral part of the Syrian people," Vershinin said upon being asked whether Russia is ready to facilitate negotiations between the Kurds and the Syrian government on making Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) units part of Syrian government forces in the event of the SDF's reorganization.

When asked whether Russia stands ready to help foster a dialogue on this matter, he said, "[We are ready to help with dialogue] on all issues."
