Russia and Turkey start new joint patrol in Syria

MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Fifty servicemen and eight armored vehicles are participating in the second joint Russian-Turkish patrol in Syria, which will cover more than 160 kilometers, including the Kobani area, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"The second joint patrol of the Russian military police and the border guard service of Turkey started work at 12:20 p.m. on November 5, 2019, in a new border district several kilometers north of the city of Kobani," the statement said.

"In all, eight units of military hardware and some 50 servicemen from both sides are participating in this patrol. It has an overall route of more than 160 kilometers and will pass through the large populated localities of Bandar Khan and Shiuh Fauhani," it said.
