YEREVAN. Nov 5 (Interfax) - The Armenian authorities are not considering withdrawing from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Armenian Deputy Parliamentary Speaker Alen Simonyan said.
"The issue of Russia selling weapons to Azerbaijan always gets brought up. The prime minister of Armenia brings it up, and the previous authorities did so, too. But the issue still remains unresolved. Russia's response remains the same, it says that weapons are supplied to Armenia too, but under more beneficial, concessional terms," Simonyan told journalists on the sidelines of a plenary session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
When asked whether Armenia may leave the CSTO if the issue remains unresolved, the deputy speaker said, "Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO has not been discussed; no such conversation has even taken place. I don't think withdrawal would be a good decision."
The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
