MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - The Nikolai Zubov patrol icebreaker of Project 23550 will be laid down by the end of 2019, Russian Navy Commander Adm. Nikolai Yevmenov said.
"The Ivan Papanin, the head ship of the project, was floated in October. The second such ship, the Nikolai Zubov, is due to be laid down before the end of the year," Yevmenov said in a message to the Admiralty Shipyard congratulating it on its 315th anniversary.
"Your company successfully completed the task of building a series of six submarines of Project 636.3 for the Black Sea Fleet's Submarine Forces. Currently, a series of submarines of this project is being built for the Pacific Fleet," he said.
The series of submarines for the Pacific Fleet, which includes the Ufa and the Magadan that were laid down on November 1, is due to be completed by 2022, Yevmenov said.
"The first submarine of this series, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, has completed the sea stage of the state trials. The second one, the Volkhov, is being prepared for floating which is due in December," he said.
