Norwegian citizen Berg's pardon request being considered in accordance with Russian legislation - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The pardon request of Norwegian citizen Frode Berg, who was convicted for espionage in Russia, has been received by the Kremlin and is being considered in accordance with Russian legislation, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

During an earlier meeting with the press, Peskov said he would find out whether the Kremlin had received Berg's pardon request.

The presidential press secretary said that the Kremlin had received the request, adding that it "is being considered in accordance with the provision on procedures for considering pardon requests in Russia approved by Russian presidential decree No. 1500 of December 28, 2001. The entire procedure is outlined there."

"I cannot give you more details," Peskov said.
