U.S. obstructing all efforts to settle crisis surrounding Iran deal - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The United States is obstructing all efforts to settle the situation surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program, and the European participants to the agreement are looking for ways to lay the blame for its disruption on Tehran, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We have noticed attempts by the European leaders to find a way out of this situation, but everything so far hinges on the United States' unwillingness to somehow unblock any attempts to overcome the crisis," Lavrov said at a press conference on Wednesday.

"We get the impression that European countries, due to various reasons, including, obviously, huge pressure from Washington, feel more comfortable finding a way to lay all responsibility for the current situation on Iran and ignoring the root cause of this crisis, namely the United States' categorical severance of this agreement," he said.
