Lavrov, German counterpart discuss Syria, including implementation of Oct 22 Russian-Turkish agreements

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas have had a telephone call to discuss the situation in Syria, including the developments in the Idlib de-escalation area, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The parties discussed the situation in Syria, including the developments in the northeastern part of the country in light of the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding between Russia and Turkey of October 22, 2019, as well as the state of affairs in the Idlib de-escalation area," the ministry said.

The conversation was arranged at the request of the German side, it said.
