Russia and Turkey conducting 3rd joint patrol in northeast Syria along new route

MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - The Russian military police and Turkey's border service launched their third joint patrol in the northeast of Syria on Friday along a new route, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The third joint patrol of the Russian military police and the border service of Turkey began working in a new border district several tens of kilometers northeast of Qamishli," the ministry said.

Friday's patrol is following a new route - from the Deiru Naga customs crossing eastward along the Syrian-Turkish border, it said.

Russia and Turkey earlier carried out joint patrols in northeast Syria on November 1 and November 5.
