Moscow ready to be guarantor of future agreements between Kurds, Damascus

MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to guarantee agreements between Kurdish units in Syria and the country's government, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"Our task is to promote this dialogue and possibly provide guarantees for this dialogue and the future implementation of agreements, if they are reached," Zakharova told reporters on Friday when asked about possible talks between the Kurds and Damascus on joining Kurdish units to the Syrian army and how exactly this could take place.

A decision on the form and format has to be made "directly by Damascus and the relevant associations," she said.
