Paris working on arranging Normandy-format summit in late Nov - French ambassador to Ukraine

KYIV. Nov 11 (Interfax) - There is still no date set for a meeting between the leaders of the countries involved in the Normandy-format negotiations, even though Ukraine has implemented all the necessary preconditions, French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Ponsins said.

The disengagement in Donbas has been accomplished and was completed last weekend; hence, both preconditions for a Normandy-format meeting have been provided, and so France is expecting a summit, de Poncins told Interfax on Monday.

While no dates have been confirmed as of yet, the parties involved are working on holding such a meeting at the end of November, he said.

Asked whether the president of France might visit Kyiv, de Poncins said the embassy was not making such preparations for the time being.

It was reported earlier that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko had said in late October that he hoped a Normandy-format summit would be held in November. He said a preliminary date for the summit had been proposed, but not all parties agreed to it.
