MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Stabilization of the situation in Syria is only possible after full withdrawal of the U.S. contingent from the country's territory, head of the Russian National Defense Control Center Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev said.
"We believe that the situation in the region can only be stabilized after the full withdrawal of the U.S. contingent and transfer of the occupied territories to under the control of the lawful government of Syria," Mizintsev said at a joint meeting of the interdepartmental coordination headquarters of Russia and Syria on the return of refugees to Syria in Moscow.
"The illegal presence of the U.S. and its allies on the territory of the sovereign Syrian state prevents the Syrian government from regaining control over the entire territory of the country and is the main destabilizing factor in Syria's revival," Mizintsev said.
