KYIV. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he believes the first Normandy-format meeting since 2016, which is due on December 9, and the very fact that he will attend it could be seen as a success in itself, but insisted that it should produce some substantive results.
"This format has been blocked since 2016, and this meeting is a success as it is," Zelensky said at a news briefing following a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis on Tuesday.
Ukraine is looking forward to this top-level meeting and is preparing for it very seriously, he said.
In commenting on reports that some "dry document" would be signed at the summit, Zelensky said, "It seems to me it's not that important what's going to be discussed there, in what way, whether it's dry or not dry. What matters is substantive things."
It was reported earlier that the leaders of the countries involved in the Normandy-format talks (France, Germany, Russia, and Ukraine) would meet in Paris on December 9.
