Victory parades to be held in 29 Russian cities on May 9, 2020 - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Parades and marches which will take place across Russia on May 9, 2020, will have over 150,000 participants, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"As well as in Moscow, parades will be held in 28 cities of the country. There will be marches everywhere military units are stationed. The events will involve more than 155,000 personnel and about 3,000 pieces of hardware," Shoigu said at a meeting of the ministry's board on Wednesday.

The 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II will be celebrated across the country, he said.

"They will pay deep respects to everyone who died fighting for freedom and independence of their home country and saved the world from fascist aggression," Shoigu said.
