Russian military continues patrols in northern Syria with use of aircraft

HMEIMIM. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Russia's military police and army aviation have conducted further patrols in northern Syria under a Russian-Turkish memorandum, head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Maj. Gen. Yury Borenkov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"The Russian military police continued patrols along the Ain Isa - Kadjla route in the Raqqa province, Kobani - Marwah, Adjami - Awshariyah, and Adjami - Karakozak routes in the Aleppo province. Army aircraft, in turn, carried out an aerial patrol along the Kwaires - Al-Hurra - Metras - Kwaires route," he said.

"Illegal armed formations are continuing to violate the truce in the Idlib de-escalation area. Twenty-four attacks were observed in the past day," Borenkov said.

The Russian Center for Reconciliation urges commanders of illegal armed units to stop armed provocations and to take the path of peaceful reconciliation in the areas under their control, he said.
