YEKATERINBURG. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Servicemen of Russia's Central Military District will participate in almost 40 joint events of various levels with Central Asian countries, including international exercises, command-post exercises, training methods courses, and battlefield tours, the district's press service said.
The Central Military District will conduct training at more than 20 training ranges in 29 regions of Siberia, the Ural and Volga areas, as well as at Russian bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in the 2020 training year, the press service said in a statement.
Particular attention will be paid to joint training together with the armed forces of CSTO, CIS, and SCO member states in the new training year, it said.
It was reported earlier that an S-300 battalion redeployed from the Volga area to Tajikistan had begun performing combat training tasks at the Lyaur training range. The battalion is involved in marching training, as well as the acquisition and tracking of air targets and their simulated destruction at various altitudes.
Combat training plans of the Central Military District will center on new forms and methods of combat actions based on experience obtained in modern military conflicts, such as using reconnaissance and attack contours, countering drones and bomb-laden armored vehicles, and creating stable communication when the mock enemy applies electronic warfare.
The new training year in the Russian Armed Forces began on December 1 and will last until the end of May 2020.
