MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor) has issued a state registration certificate to the Luhansk State Medical University named after St. Luke.
A relevant order, signed by Rosobrnadzor head Sergei Kravtsov and dated November 29, is available for viewing on the agency's official website. The university is referred to as "a state establishment of the Luhansk People's Republic."
Two higher education specializations have received accreditation: 31.00.00 (clinical medicine) and 33.00.00 (pharmacy).
The Russian law on education makes it possible for foreign educational organizations to seek Russian accreditation and receive certificates, a representative of the Rosobrnadzor press service told Interfax. If a foreign university has a state registration certificate, it has a right to issue Russian diplomas, the representative said.
The Rosobrnadzor representative additionally said that the Luhansk university is not the first to receive such a right, adding that Russian diplomas are also issued in Donetsk and Transdniestria.
