MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Chi Vinh held talks in the Vietnamese city of Nha Trang on Tuesday, the Russian Defense Minister said.
"The two sides discussed in detail security issues in the Asia Pacific region, the current status of the bilateral defense relations, and the priorities of cooperation in 2020," the ministry said in a statement, obtained by Interfax.
The pair attended the fifth round of the strategic defense dialogue at the level of Russian and Vietnamese deputy defense ministers, the ministry said.
During the visit Fomin also went aboard the Russian Pacific Fleet rescue vessel Igor Belousov, which is taking part in the two countries' maneuvers in search and rescue of a submarine which ran aground, the statement said.
