KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax) - The Verkhovna Rada factions of the parties European Solidarity, Holos, and Batkivshchyna call on Ukrainians to gather for a protest "against capitulation" on the Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti) in downtown Kyiv on Sunday, December 8.
European Solidarity member Andriy Parubiy posted a relevant address to Ukrainians signed by the leaders of European Solidarity, Holos, and Batkivshchyna, - Petro Poroshenko, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, and Yulia Tymoshenko, - on Facebook.
"Ukrainians! In light of the life-changing challenges Ukraine is facing now, ahead of the Normandy Four meeting, it is necessary to remind the authorities about the 'red lines,' the demands of the Ukrainian people no one can ignore," the address said.
The aforementioned demands are the following: no compromises on the unitary state, no to federalization; no compromises on the European and Euro-Atlantic course; no political steps, in particular elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas before fulfillment of conditions on security and de-occupation, such as the withdrawal of Russian troops, the disarmament of illegal armed units, and regaining control over the state border; no compromises on the de-occupation and return of Crimea to Ukraine; no termination of the international lawsuits against Russia.
"We call on all Ukrainians, all state political forces, social organizations to gather on Maidan Nezalezhnosti at 1 p.m. on December 8 and show our unity and resolve in the fight for Ukraine," the address said.
