DONETSK/KYIV. Dec 5 (Interfax) - A serviceman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has been killed in a shell attack on the populated locality of Kruta Balka, a spokesman of the DPR people's militia told reporters on Wednesday.
"Today, law enforcement officers of the Ukrainian Separate Mechanized Brigade have shelled the populated locality of Kruta Balka from the sector of the populated locality of Avdiyivka. Our side sustained some losses. A defender of our republic suffered a lethal injury in the shell attack," he said.
The adversaries have violated the ceasefire twice in the Joint Forces Operation zone since midnight, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.
The adversaries have fired grenade launchers of various systems and small arms on the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the sector of Novoluhanske. In the Donetsk sector they have also fired large-caliber machineguns and small arms on the Joint Forces positions near the populated locality of Shyrokyne, a spokesman of the Defense Ministry said at a press briefing in Kyiv.
"Our defenders have suffered no losses since midnight," the Defense Ministry added.
