Kyrgyz state protection chief relieved of duties - presidential decree

BISHKEK. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Soorobay Jeenbekov has dismissed the head of State Protection Service of the State Committee for National Security, the head of state's press service told Interfax on Saturday.

"Jeenbekov signed a decree relieving Timur Shabdanbekov of his duties as Deputy Chairman of the State National Security Committee and the Committee's head of 9th Service due to his transfer to another position," a spokesperson said.

Another presidential decree replaces him with Sanzharbek Erkinbayev

Shabdanbekov led the national security committee's 9th Service since March 2.

The agency provides security for the country's top officials and state buildings.
