BERLIN. Dec 10 (Interfax) - America's latest sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project threaten the results of peace talks on Ukraine, according to the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (OAOEV), a union of German industrialists working with Russia.
"If these sanctions are approved, it will be a direct assault on the sovereignty of the European Union and send a fatal signal to the peace efforts made in Paris," OAOEV chairman Oliver Hermes said.
This week the U.S. Congress is planning to pass a package of bills on the national defense budget. The package includes sanctions against European companies involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
