Reps of Russian and Iranian general staffs discuss military cooperation

MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax) - Representatives of the Iranian and Russian armed forces' general staffs met in Moscow on December 9-10 for the third meeting of the Russia-Iran working group on military cooperation, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The parties noted the level of bilateral military cooperation achieved over the past few years and discussed the dense program of joint events this year. They also laid out plans for 2020," the statement said.

General Staff Deputy Chief Vice Adm. Viktor Liina headed the Russian side of the working group, while the Iranian side was led by General Staff Deputy Chief Gen. Ghadir Nezami.
