WASHINGTON. Dec 11 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said he reaffirmed Russia's invitation to extend the New START before the end of this year at his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
"We have reaffirmed our invitation to extend the treaty; what is more, we believe it's important to make the decision as soon as possible, before the end of this year, as Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested lately," Lavrov told the press.
The meeting focused on "strategic stability and the situation in the field of arms control and non-proliferation," he said.
